Happiness.

Is that what we want?

Is that all we want?

When asked what people want, everyone of us will come to a conclusion that it is Happiness.

And the next question is 'What does Happiness mean to you?' And you can almost guarantee that the words used next are  –

I want harmony, peace, tranquillity, calm, love, abundancy, contentment ……..

So, how do we acheive/find happiness?

Well the good news is that you already have it, inside of you, just waiting for you to go within, find it and realise the truth about happiness.

Everyone the world over is looking for the same thing but most are looking externally and that can be very short lived and eventually disappointing.

TAPINTOYOU would like to give you the tools to help you build the life that you really want and tell you that we are moving into an era where this will become easier and faster.

You will be astonished how simple it is.  After the first realisation, with a little effort and practice, nobody is incapable of finding happiness.

Where do we start?  -  What is it that makes you unhappy?  Seems a good place!

What takes us away from harmony, peace, tranquillity, calm, love, abundacy, contentment …………

You do, or the the you that is the voice you listen to all day, incessantly talking to you commonly known as the 'ego'.

A very quick excercise to start with is to realise that there is something else other than the ego....

Stop what you are doing and sit quietly, listen to your breathing, your breathing is seperate from your ego, so just observe your breathing, and whilst doing this observe your thoughts.

Your thoughts can come and go but ask the question.......

Who is observing my thoughts?

And that is your awakening and your very first step to changing your life.

Let us start with a breakdown of what the ego is

EGO – this is the thinking, the logic, the intelligence, the conscious and subconscious mind that you have worked with ever since the first time you were told ‘no’, that ‘no’ was probably from a caring parent who was protecting you from hurting yourself. And the ego took on that role ever since.

You could say that the ego has a mind of its own, it believes that it is very clever and does a very good job of guiding you and protecting you.

But surely now is the time to ask ‘Has it………..?’

When a situation arises in your life and your ego gets to work on it – what is it doing, it is turning inwards to work with the resources that it has ie memories, beliefs, values etc and then it will give you a reaction or behaviour that will best suit………….

So who can honestly hold their hand up and say yes all of my reactions and behaviours are the right ones, I am happy, I have a fantastic life!!!

Anybody??

We all are looking to improve our lives and we have all been attempting to for a very long time..

So what would make you happy right this minute?  Money,  success, nice car……………

These are external and I can only name a few because I have found what I was looking for and it was not external, external things only have a short lifespan of making you happy, you strive to get them thinking that they will be the answer to your unhappiness but after the initial excitement the novelty wears off and hey………back to square one ‘What will make me happy’. (But don’t worry the external things can still be there but you will enjoy them on another level… read on)

I have spent the last four years exploring this theory,  so long because I am not a follower, I am not a person who can be told something and I think ‘OK that must be it then’.  I am a person who needs to feel it, play around with it, test it and have no doubts.

A lot of the time was spent discovering myself, (not my Self, that comes later).  Firstly we all seem to have a need to know the you that everyone sees, the external you, the you that you have been putting out there for years and years.  Instintively you want to know what makes you tick, why did you do what you did, why do you feel the way you do.  You want to get in your brain and have a good sort out.

I have had hundreds of readings from psychics/mediums, and was always fascinated when they would say something that described me. I spent much time filling in quizzes which would tell me what type of person I was.

It is fascinating how little you know about the person you are.  In fact we will go down many routes to find the answer to that – ‘Who am I?’  Counsellors, healers, psychologists even psychiatrists. We will go so deep into our minds so that we can dig up every issue we can find.  And all so that we may understand and therefore change ourselves and the world around us on our quest for happiness.

So we all start with self discovery (again not to be mistaken with Self discovery).  Then we turn our attention to those around us, people who are in our lives, our nearest and dearest. Why are they like what they are like?  Do we really want them in our lives? Is it them who are keeping us from the all illusive ‘Happiness’.

Something is shifting, more and more people are starting this hunt, are realising that there has to be something more to what they already have and know.  The bookshops have had to extend the ‘Self Help’ sections to accommodate for all the authors who what to write about this very subject, coming from all types of angles, all types of stances.  Huge amounts of money are being made by people who have come across techniques, findings and offerings so as to pass them on to us.

They are all playing their part in bringing you to happiness.  There are so many tools now that you can find the one that best suits you and practice with it and see what happens……

And we are all so different that one technique may be exact for one person but not for another, so this is it where it starts to get personal. This is when you find out that this journey of discovery is unique to you.  No two quests are the same.  Like our DNA and fingerprints our pursuit of happiness is our own and nobody elses.

The word I use is resonance.  When something resides with you just right.  When you find a book fascinating, when something you see, hear or read is ‘right’ – the Truth – your Truth.

So then where are we going?? Then surely is the time that we realise that there is another part of us which is not our ego.  Which goes against what our ego is gibbering on about. And as our attention is drawn to this, when there seems to be another ‘voice’, another knowing – that is your ‘moment’. Your ‘awakening’.  You become a seeker.  This can come at any time in your life, maybe after a tragic loss, a change in fortune, a severe illness and then for some it is just a case of realising that your life has to change and you will look towards the alternatives to medicine, alcohol, addictions, religion etc.

So is it easy, is it hard, again we are all different, so from now on it will be completely individual, even for some isolating.  Because on the level that we are all used to, ie our lives, the mater around us, we are used to reaching outward for whatever we want, this journey is about reaching inward.  It all takes on another level, a new level of understanding.

Others can assist by giving you tools to work with, others can give you encouragement.  However at the end of the day, this is yours and only yours, therefore you may find that you feel outwardly lonely, people around you don’t understand what you are doing or going through, things and people will leave your life and you will grieve them.

This is your journey.  This is the discovering of the Self, the I Am………

Once on this road, there is no turning back.  How could you possibly. This is like an itch that will never go away, you will keep at it.  It’s like the peeling paint, just peel a little then it has to be a little more and more……….. and so it goes.  You have discovered something now that you will never let go or stop wanting to know more about. The most fascinating of all subjects – You.  And however intoxicated you will try to become with drink, drugs, negative activities – you will always come back to the wanting, the type that nothing external can satisfy, you have to go inside………

Its about turning the mirror and taking a hard good look in it.  Some people hate what they see but that is unnecessary. You must persevere and keep looking.  Using the tools that you find along the way ie forgiveness, tolerance, etc

This life is about you and nobody else………………….

The Result

Peace, harmony, calm, balance = HAPPINESS

And once you have found that within you, you have found your inner purpose of life, and then you will watch the world around you change and discover your outer purpose - the first principle of which is to make the earth a better place...
