opes consulting announces record services deal

opes consulting today announced that it has been retained by Clyde & Co LLP to provide the professional services element of their Thomson Elite Informix to SQL Server migration project.  Commenting on the deal in which the services element could reach six figures Kevin Smith, founder of opes, said, "This is a significant step in the evolution of opes.  To be retained by such a prestigous Thomson Elite client as Clyde shows that opes' philosophy and expertise are relevant to a significant section of the Thomson Elite Enterprise user base."

Paul Robins, Finance Systems Development Manager at Clyde, commented, "Every large firm has once in a while to make a leap in terms of its technology and this project lays the foundation for many future developments.  As well as migrating the underlying database to SQL Server we shall be upgrading to the latest general releases of Enterprise and Webview to enable distributed time-recording and billing and we will be installing high availability hardware that gives the firm a huge degree of resilience that is lacking from our current systems.

To carry out a project of this magnitude requires the best service organization available and our experience with the personnel at opes over many years and many projects led us to pick them as the primary service provider for this project.

We knew we needed guidance on all elements of the project from Hardware Planning and Specification to Project Management to the details associated with re-programming, data migration and screen design and training.  We believe opes are uniquely positioned to offer a full service package and meet these demanding requirements."
