eptec has been around since 2003, the spark for the beginning of the company was a growing awareness of the pollutants (mainly tobacco smoke) in public places.  As long ago as in1999, I was approached by a company involved in refurbishment and design of public indoor spaces, to look at the affects of smoke filters used commonly in pubs.  The result of my research was that the best way to remove the effects of smoke was removal by ventilation.

Further reading, supports the necessity for large scale ventilation of public places in order to remove many of the common impurities that degrade the quality of the indoor air.  The benefits of high ventilation are many fold it is believed to have a large effect on working effectiveness, and will go a long way to reduce the effects of sick building syndrome.  There are other benefits, removal of airborne viruses whether from other effected occupants or possible man made sources, it can also remove the effects of second hand smoke that could lead to letigation processes, particularly from employees made to work in such smoke filled environments. 

This is all very good but there has to be a cost for this healthy indoor air, with the ventilating of all this contaminated air their is also the release of vast amounts of heat energy.  Not so good, but it is possible to recover this venting heat, remove it from the exiting air and use it to heat the incoming air.  This is not a new idea and systems are available to do just that, but they have a limited capacity and a limited ability to extract the heat, resulting in the ability to merely preheat the incoming air, which still need additional heating that occurs extra costs.

eptec has developed a system where the requirement for a conventional heating system is removed, and heating for the building is possible at a fraction of the cost.  There is additional funding for such systems as it drastically reduces the carbon emissions.
