@UK PLC
Processing small-value (i.e. below £50) invoices rendered to large organisations usually costs those organisations more than the goods themselves
@UK PLC (www.ukplc.net) connects large organisation to their suppliers so that staff can order all they need securely online, and suppliers can invoice back electronically. The initial target market for @UK was local councils, but it was found that these bodies only perceived the company as a partial solution.
DRG Marketing developed the concept of '100% eInvoicing'. That is that by using @UK, any authority could require all its suppliers to render their invoices electronically and provide them with an easy means to do so. Advertising and PR material were prepared (see below) and a launch event organized in a central London hotel attended by around 50 local authority staff. A 6-page newsletter was created for insertion into 30,000 copies of the principal trade magazine for the sector “Supply Management”, which is also the official journal of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
There has since been a significant change in awareness of the benefits of the @UK solution, and a number of contracts have been signed with Local Authorities since the launch event.
