Health & Social Care - NVQ Level 2

This qualification is designed for care workers who support and assist individuals with their physical or emotional care daily living needs or maintaining independence, usually working under supervision.  

Health & Social Care is particularly relevant for home care assistants, community support assistants and residential or day care assistants.

Entry requirements - Candidate must either be working or working as a volunteer in a residential care home or hospital and be prepared for volunteer for at least 14 hours per week.  Candidate will also be assessed and provided with Literacy and Numeracy support if required.  

Programme

The course is made of of 4 mandatory units and 2 optional units.  There will be a series of in-house workshops to support candidates with their NVQ Level 2 programme. 

Progression

On successful completion, candidate may progress to Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care; Certificate in Community Mental Care; Youth Work or Working with People who have Learning Disabilities.
