The Strings

Welcome to The Strings website.

The Strings emerged from four piece Southampton band The View, around June 2004 and are now available for gigs.

Guitarist singer/songwriter Reuben and bass player Frank 'Sbassman' were experimenting with some new sounds/songs and were lucky enough to be introduced to Jim who's natural drumming/singing ability helped to complete the sound they were looking for with little effort.

They began rehearsing as an indie rock power trio, and within a few months they had a set list ready and played their debut gig on 1st December 2004.

By March 2005 they were supporting Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets) at the prestigious Joiners venue.

Why The Strings?
'Basically myself and Sbassman used to refer ourselves as 'the strings section' when we were in The View… don't know why I didn't think of it before!' [Reubs]

Believe it or not these guys only get together once a fortnight and this in itself pays tribute to the connection they have based around the music they create, which carries through to their live performances.
