The Baikie–Wood Consultancy Ltd was set up by Miranda Smythe in 1992.

The mission of the organisation is to provide high quality training and consultancy in management development, customer focus, equal opportunities, communication and interpersonal skills.

The company is based near Bedford and is owned and run by Miranda and John Smythe. John provides much of the behind the scenes support including the preparation of training materials. In addition John also carries out quality assurance consultancy, including training in auditing skills and ISO9000.

Miranda writes and presents the training and also is involved in providing many of the consultancy services that are featured on this website.

In addition, John and Miranda work closely with Peter McOnie who specialises in areas such as management coaching, team development and quality systems training.

This website has been developed to showcase some of the services that the Consultancy offers, including information on some of the most popular training courses that we are asked to run.

These will provide you with some idea of content although they tend to be quite general as any courses would be tailored to reflect the objectives of your organisation.

Releasing staff to take part in learning activities - particularly for sessions that last more than one day - can be problematic and it is possible to structure courses so that they are broken into more manageable chunks.

For example, many of the management sessions that are featured are half day in length which should make them more attractive and easier to attend.

More than anything, the seminars are designed to be engaging, practical, relevant and transferable to the work environment - essential characteristics for successful learning in a demanding world.
