Our Service

Collards has always, primarily offered its services to the public sector and has formed relationships with various County Councils, London Boroughs, Government Agencies, Housing Associations, Schools and Hospital Boards over the years. 

We currently carry out day-to-day maintenance work, based on a schedule of rates, for the Housing Departments of St. Albans District Council, Hertsmere Borough Council, the London Borough of Barnet and also Hightown Praetorian & Churches Housing Association, Teacher’s Housing Association, Tally Ho Housing Association, Warden Housing Association and Ridgehill Housing Association to name but a few.  We also provide services to the West Hertfordshire NHS trust and carry out work for many schools.

In addition, we carry out contract work based upon tenders, or, written quotations up to a value of £400,000.00 for the aforementioned clients and architects.

Our managers and supervisors organise a workforce of tradesmen comprising fully qualified carpenters, plumbers, roofers, plasterers, general builders, electricians, labourers, a team of drainage/ground works specialists and jetters, and UPVC specialists. 

We have also developed good, long-standing relationships with our suppliers, which enables us to obtain materials quickly and without fuss, therefore reducing unnecessary delay for the client.

Our company is CORGI and FENSA registered and is a member of the Federation of Master Builders and the British Safety Council.  We are accredited with Exor Management Services Limited. We are also a registered carrier of waste.  We are also in the process of obtaining acceditation with SAFE Contractor.

Our offices at Albert Road are fully computerised with systems specifically designed for the construction industry.  We currently have full-time and part-time clerical staff to deal with all customer queries.  We also have a subsidiary office and warehouse in St. Albans, managed by Phil Dever.
