Sagem Communication is a subsidiary of the French owned Safran Group that has been established for over 80 years wiith consolidated sales of EUR 16 billion in 2005. Even though Sagem is a major worldwide player in mobile phones the company is made up not only of CE products but also defence and leading biometrics technology. Sagem continues to leverage the powerful partnership further to the merge with Snecma to form Safran in 2005, taking the work force from 14,000 to approx 56,000 covering operations in 31 countries, with sales of 10 billion Euros in 2004, including 61% generated in Europe.
The Sagem product range for the UK comprises – Fax including the Philips fax brand which was acquired in April 2002, GSM, ADSL Modems, Projectors, Digital Photo printers, DECT phones, High Definition TV’s, Set Top Boxes and PVR’s.
Sagem holds the number one market position for Fax, multifunction products (MFP) and High Definition DLP TV’s in Europe, is the market leader for Set Top Boxes and one of the top four Mobile phone manufacturers in the UK*.
The roadmap for 2006 is set to further continue this success with the launch of new innovative products across the range.
