Does your glazing comply with government regulations ?
Since 1st January 1996 it has been a legal requirement that existing glazing be made impact safe and visible to avoid collision.Glazing used in a commercial building must meet BS 6206.Regulation 14 applies to new and existing glazing in old or new buildings.Glazing which does not meet Regulation 14 guidelines must be upgraded. The solution is to either remove and re-glaze (expensive and disruptive) or have high-quality and cost effective security film applied with little disruption to staff and routines within a building.

SECURITY/SAFETY FILM
We offer a range of security films offering protection for your home or office.
We can professionally install safety film to provide invisible yet highly effective protection to people and property. Available from 50 to 350 microns, all tested to relevant British (BS 6206) and European (EN 12600) impact tests. Safety films have a tough, scratch resistant coating and come with a 10 year warranty. Security films hold glass fragments together in the event of breakage will also help to strengthen glass, lessening the risk of breakage following malicious or accidental injury. The glass windows and doors have become the primary point of entry during 'smash and grab' invasions. Statistics show that more than 70% of burglaries involve forced entry through the weakest link... the glass. One commonly used solution to the problem is the addition of a polyester safety film. Thick safety films do a good job of holding the glass fragments together in the event of breakage. This is why they are referred to as 'safety films' or 'fragment retention films'. Holding the shards of glass together creates a safer work place... but not necessarily a more secure one. If the filmed glass is broken with enough force, it could be blown out or knocked out of its frame. The performance of safety film can be greatly advanced through the use of an attachment or anchorage system. This system helps to prevent the entire pane of glass from being blown out of the window frame. The most critical step in creating a safer and more secure glass system is to anchor or attach a safety film to the window or door frames. When installing security films we apply an anchorage system.We use DOW Corning 995 structual glazing sealant to seal the film to the framing system.This gives your property superior protection against thieves.Many companies install security film without anchorage systems which could make your glazing more vulnerable to entry for a thief.
