In 2000 Ranger Oil, the Canadian company founded by Lt Col J.M.Pierce in the 1950s was taken over by CNR (Canadian Natural Resources) Ltd.

 

Ken Seymour had joined Ranger in 1984 as a drilling engineer and developed his career through drilling into operations, general management and ultimately business development. Following relocation of the International Division to Aberdeen, Ken Seymour left and became an independent consultant offering consultancy, interim management and training services.

 

In the process of forming a company for this business it was discovered that the Ranger Oil name was available, thus a new  Ranger Oil Ltd was born in February of 2004. Ranger provides consultancy and interim management service under the trading name of Ranger Oilfield Services.

 

1. Ranger’s core skills are in business development and operations management at the front end (exploration/development) of the hydrocarbon lifecycle.
2. Ranger is a pioneering pathfinder; in the business of finding, producing and selling hydrocarbons for profit for the benefit of all.
3. Ranger's vision is to establish itself as an E&P producer by developing Technical and Management Services agreements with local independent companies.
