PHILA was created by Dr Zaza Elsheikh in 2005. She qualified as a Solicitor in 2004, having trained at Hempsons, in London. She is also a qualified Medical Doctor (University College London 1994). Whilst working in Clinical Litigation she proficiently distilled high value claims and frequently attended Courts as an Advocate. Her client base emanated from both public and private facets of the Health Sector eg Royal Colleges, PCTs, NHS Trusts and Strategic Health Authorities. She actively managed claims on behalf of both Claimants and Defendants in disputes concerning Commercial Property, Partnerships, Employment Law, Racial and Disability Discrimination.
However, convinced that litigation could ultimately prove destructive for all parties concerned with little, if any, real benefit for the “winner” of the case, she elected to become a Mediator. She achieved accreditation as a Mediator through UK Mediation in 2004 and also became CEDR accredited in 2006.
Zaza has also set up Medical Dispute Solutions in the UK for the provision of a more widely accessible mediation service to parties engaged in a dispute involving a medical matter. She has also written a unique and widely acclaimed Personal Injury Mediation Skills course.
Her forte is in rapidly establishing a strong rapport with clients from all professional and social backgrounds which is particularly conducive to the exploration of disputants’ underlying needs and interests and facilitating the path to mutually acceptable solutions to a conflict.
Who is the team?
Ms Nahid Ahmed Khidir BSc is a Clinical Psychologist who is also a fully qualified having graduated from the School of Psychology & Preschool Learning at Ahfad University for Women. She is a highly experienced Counselor having specialized in counseling for HIV/AIDS patients. She will be supervising the interviewing of patients who would like to register a complaint regarding the health service they have
received.
Mr Ahmed Siddig is an entrepreneur and is highly committed to the development of the business. He is jointly responsible for all financial control of the company and the prudent investment of all insurance premiums paid by those insured by us. He has many successful ventures behind him and therefore a diversity of contacts internationally.
Mr ElHady Abd ElSeed BSc is our Office Manager and bookkeeper having graduated from the School of Economics at Cairo University and Cost and Management Accounting from the University of Science and Technology Khartoum. He is adept at all the administrative needs of a growing company which has multiple lines of interest and work. He has extensive experience in the public as well as private sectors and therefore is an extremely valuable facilitator.
Dr Zaza Mahmoud Elsheikh MB BS PG Dip LP is a lawyer who is also fully medically qualified having graduated from University College London in 1994. She has specialised in Medical Negligence and has a wealth of experience in this ever-growing field which is based on her training within the leading Medicolegal firm Hempsons in London whose client base includes MDU, BMA, MPS and various governmental ministries. Her advocacy skills have been practiced successfully at the Royal Courts of Justice on a daily basis on very high value claims. She has taught in her field at Universities and Barristers’ chambers as well as companies in London and looks forward to chairing debates in Sudan.
