O & H Highways & Special Projects

The Special Projects Division has an enviable track record and reputation for Highways Works, a reputation gained by operating in a Partnering Culture and successfully managing both Framework Contracts and discretely tendered projects.

The main categories of work are:-
· Highways, including new build and maintenance
· Highway structures including new build and maintenance.
· Environmental.
· Public Realm Works.
· Development Infrastructure Works.
· Transport Interchanges.

O & H  Utilities

The Utilities division of O & H predominantly undertakes civils and cabling work in the telecommunications and cable television markets on a principal contractor basis but in certain instances on a sub-contract basis.

The range of clients includes:-

· British Telecom
· EDF
· SSE

Contracts are undertaken on both term and "one off" type basis and include the provision of full construction, project management, cabling, activation, maintenance and emergency response as well as design and construct services.

In line with clients requirements we can provide a "one-stop-shop" service and are actively expanding this facility within our business.

O & H  Building

O & H, operating both on a regional and national level has become a significant player in the industry achieving year on year growth with blue chip clients to contribute volume business to the Group.

The key to success is the ability to undertake a diverse range of contracts, be it new build or refurbishments, in an industrial or high quality environment.  The company has dedicated teams to execute the works within the specialist areas.  Typical sectors are:

The breadth of construction activity undertaken by O & H has led to the development of a combined Civils and Mechanical & Electrical expertise to the distinct advantage of clients in many sectors of industry.

That expertise brings together the full weight, resources and expertise of O & H Civil Engineering division and the comprehensive professional skills of O & H Street Lighting , the Group's mechanical and electrical subsidiary.

A discrete team for a client's specific contract is created from the two operational divisions with the Project Manager being selected to suit the predominant operational requirement.

It also allows us to respond to changing situations and emergencies, be proactive rather than reactive in the development of a project, and be totally project focused enabling all the issues to be addressed.

Our full range of activities are covered by the company's Health and Safety Systems, Environmental Management System, Quality Assurance System, and comprehensive Company.

The integrated Health, Safety, Environment and Quality team, continually update company policies and procedures to provide ever-safer working environments, sustainability and continuous improvement in best practice and value.

Our dedicated CDM department have successfully implemented the 2007 CDM requirements and have disseminated our obligations to our senior site staff who deliver compliance on-site.

Self imposed targets for continuous development and improvement
The company continues to provide an increasingly competitive and reliable service, with a large proportion of its business being repeat orders from customers who are impressed by O & H ability to provide high quality workmanship on time and to budget. Recent years have seen the development of open book accounting, a computerised supply chain management system with enquiry tracking and performance monitoring, and electronic document management / archiving systems
