By train
Direct trains run up the East coast line from London Kings Cross up toPitlochry or Perth (about 6½ hours and you could always travel in stylein the restaurant car!)
From Pitlochry a taxi to Kirkmichael can be booked in advance on
01796 473931
& will cost about £20. From Perth you'd need to catch a bus whichwould take about 1hr. You really won't need a car when you get to thecottage. There's also a bus….but just on a Saturday!
By car
It will take just over 1½ hours from Edinburgh and only slightly longer from Glasgow. There are excellentroads up to Pitlochry or Blairgowrie & then smaller B-roads acrossthe hills to Kirkmichael
N.B. the road from Pitlochry to Kirkmichael may not be passable inheavy snow and traveling via Perth & Blairgowrie is recommended!
