| Background information North London Voluntary Sector Forum is a subregional, umbrella organisation covering the London Boroughs of Barnet, Enfield, Haringey and Waltham Forest. It's vision is to be a respected, united, sustainable, umbrella organisation benefiting voluntary and community groups in North London. The organisation currently has about 120 members and is BME - led. However, leadership and management of the organisation is open to all communities. It has no core funding at present and is therefore trying to survive with the support of stakeholders. The Forum exists to develop and maintain an effective network able to speak with authority on behalf of member groups. Its 4 purposes are to: · enhance the existence of small community and voluntary organisations in North London by providing leadership, information, guidance and support · work in partnership with organisations with similar objectives to our mutual benefit and those of voluntary and community organisations · influence the development of policy and strategy in the sector · contribute to the well being of the communities in which we live, work and play.
