Michael Dyson Associates Ltd is a multi disciplinary housing consultancy working primarily in the Social Housing sector. Our services include Surveying, Architectural Design, Eco Homes Assessors, Project Management, Engineering, Planning Supervisor, Clerk of Works, Quantity Surveyor and Partnering Advisors.

Established in 1980, we employ over 70 staff with our Head office in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. We also have a number of satellite offices across the Country, including Staffordshire, Wrexham and Dorset.

Our existing client base is primarily Councils and Housing Associations and much of our work is generated through repeat business from satisfied clients.

Michael Dyson Associates Ltd are widely known for our repair and refurbishment expertise for precast reinforced concrete (PRC) and other non traditional housing systems. Throughout the 1980’s and early 1990’s we were responsible for the structural reinstatement of several thousand owner occupiers’ properties funded by grants under the Housing Defects Legislation. We possess licensed repair schemes for most of the 26 designated ‘defective’ PRC systems and we are one of the founder engineers of the Non Traditional Homes Appraisal Scheme (NTHAS) which provides a framework through which all non traditional housing systems can be appraised and repaired.

Michael Dyson Associates Ltd are members of the Housing Forum, Construction Industry Environmental Forum and actively involved in a number of workshops and other initiatives aimed at achieving ‘rethinking construction’ and tackling issues involved with sustainability.

We are experienced in master planning and sustainable design and are Eco Homes Assessors. We believe that environmental considerations are vital in all construction processes and always consider environmental factors and efficiencies at the start of a commission.

Amongst our staff we have a range of qualifications and experience including those who have worked on the refurbishment of schools, museums, shops and leisure centres which gives us a range of knowledge within the company. We are accredited to a number of professional institutes and organisations including BS EN ISO 9001:2001, Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists, Corporate Members of the Chartered Institute of Building, Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme and Constructionline, Corporate Members of the Association for Project Safety, Membership of the Construction Industry Forum and we are National Home Energy Rating Assessors.
