The history of Taylor can be traced back to Mr J.W.Taylor’s workshop in 1892 when Mr Taylor enjoyed a reputation for high quality joinery work.  The company has grown and developed since then.  It was acquired by its current owners in 1949 and they have continued to encourage excellent quality standards.  In order to accommodate the expanding workload, the company moved to its current address in 1964.  Significant investment has been made in plant and machinery over recent years to enable the company to take advantage of developments in technology and to ensure that it could keep up with increasing levels of demand.

We are now one of the leading joinery companies in the north, with a well deserved reputation for manufacturing and installing high specification joinery products to prestigious buildings across the region.  We can also work in a contractor capacity by organising a full interior fit-out.

 Our expertise is apparent through the quality of our staff.  We already employ over 100 staff – including skilled wood machinists, apprentice trained bench and site joiners – and many of our joiners and other members of staff have spent all of their careers with Taylor’s. 

 Our expertise is complemented by the facilities in our workshop where the majority of the manufacturing process takes place in order to ensure the integrity of the finished product.
