At least 20 statements on each topic are given, which can easily be cut apart and handed out for pairs or groups of students to discuss and then organise under the headings ‘True’, ‘Need More Info’, or ‘False’. This activity encourages lively and thoughtful class discussion and analytical higher-level thinking, and is similar to debating but with all students working together as a ‘community’. Sample student responses included. This will get your whole class involved! Topics include ‘Heroism’, ‘City Life’, ‘Courage’, and ‘Immigrants’.
