Using traditional materials and processes, the highly experienced team of craftsmen and women at Hilton Studio have striven for over 40 years to create tributes and memorials which will stand the test of time.
Time honoured skills, patience, artistry and an uncompromising dedication to quality are woven together to produce the very best in calligraphy, gilding, illustration, heraldic painting and book binding.
Careful attention is paid to the selection and preparation of the materials used. In order to obtain the quality required, a number of these are produced in-house using formulae and methods developed over the years.
Work is undertaken for a wide variety of customers, both in this country and overseas including, Local Authorities, Crematoria, Funeral Directors, Schools, Universities, Health Authorities, through public and private companies to churches and private individuals. Each commission received is given the same careful consideration of clients' requirements throughout the production process.
Whilst great emphasis is placed on the timeless nature of the skills and crafts which form the basis of the business, new technology is embraced wherever this can contribute to the provision of better customer service. Hence the introduction of computer facilities which provide clients with direct access, via broadband and modem links, to their own files. In this way they can update their input requirements accurately and instantaneously. The all important administration tasks of work progression and tracking are similarly streamlined.
As producers of archival documents, a natural extension of the business has been the design and manufacture of cabinets in which they can be displayed and protected. Again, the traditional skills of the cabinet maker are combined with the latest fibre optic technology to provide soft, indirect illumination of precious manuscripts within a protected environment.
