TYPICAL SCHOOL PARTY'S TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1
Arrive at Sharm Airport where you will be met by the Oonas rep. The transfer to the hotel is short and this will give you plenty of time to settle into the clean and comfortable rooms. Later you may decide to walk around Na’aam Bay to orientate yourself and flavour some of the more exotic (or familiar!) restaurants. Sharm El Sheikh has plenty to keep everyone occupied - regardless of age.
Day 2
PADI Open Water (or Advanced) Course begins after breakfast. Diving equipment and manuals are issued, and the students meet their instructor. Introductory videos and worksheets in the airconditioned classroom in the morning follow, before moving into the sea to familiarise the students with the equipment. Lunch can be taken at the bar restaurant when convenient and Supper is at a venue of choice (and there is a lot of choice nearby!).
Day 3
After breakfast the groups practise some diving drills before testing themselves in the sea later. Further theory work is followed by practical application. Lunch and Supper can be had at a different nearby venue of choice, safe in the knowledge of its low cost!
Day 4
Straight into the nearby sand bottomed sea classrom after breakfast to experience the challenge of bouyancy. BCD diving jackets will be inflated and deflated until all the students have a sound grasp of the task. Then after lunch will be the chance to try the first real shallow dive around the bay, under the watchful eye of your instructor (and your friends!).
Day 5
After breakfast today the students will be transported onto Dive Boats and taken off into the Red Sea for the day. After their first dive, when the full beauty of the sport becomes apparent, lunch will be served on board. More technical dives follow before the majority qualify as Open Water Divers. Of course suntans at this stage are also becoming masterpieces of their own!
Day 6
The whole school group depart from the bustling Egyptian port on one of the Oonas Dive Boats to enjoy their further two dives as qualified Open Water Divers. Teams will continue to dive together but have the benefit of sharing the same social boat. Ras Mohammad, the local National Park, is often picked for the destination of this day due to the dolphins and turtles—and it is often a well contested race to jump in after them!
Day 7
Today is the last day and is often dedicated to topping up tans on the nearby beach and just taking it easy. With so much to do during the week, many like to just gently snooze under the egyptian sun. Later the group will be taken to the Sharm International airport and be waved goodbye by the Oonas staff, happy that they would have experienced arguebly the best school trip possible with lifetime memories.
