Richard Dreyfuss stars as Moses Wine, a former '60's Berkeley radical who now finds himself saddled with two young sons, a newly divorced wife, and a seriously ailing career as a small time private eye. His political fervour of the late '60's has long since left him, only to be replaced in 1978 with an all-too easygoing cynicism. His business is basically confined to the low-keyed, low paying thrills of divorce cases and process serving, until an unexpected visit from a former college girlfriend brings on his involvement in a case directly rooted in te upheaval and turmoil brought on by the '60's. The Big Fix sees detective Wine and his family plunge headlong into the biggest case of his career - a case that winds its way through high level politics and the Chincano power movement, taking Wine across the city of Los Angeles in a race against time to solve the mystery.
