Hambling Construction has recently celebrated 25 years of successful contracting, during which time the company has grown beyond recognition.  Founder of the firm, Craig Hambling, has overseen considerable growth from humble beginnings, and is still driving the company forward as Managing Director.  Craig has built a successful team of Quantity Surveyors, Contract Managers, Estimators and support staff, who provide effective and efficient management to our operatives on site.

We operate across a wide area surrounding our Accrington, East Lancashire base, with current contracts as far apart as the Fylde Coast, Manchester and Harrogate.

The company has a proven track record in understanding and meeting the particular requirements of public and private sector clients and prides itself on the dedication of a highly skilled workforce and compliance with the highest standards of quality, health and safety and best practice within the industry.
A reputation for commitment and attention to detail has earned us recognition with a broad cross-section of clients including local authorities, health care trusts, education bodies, housing associations, government departments, police authorities, public and private companies of all sizes.  This dedication has seen rewards in the heightening of our profile, increased workloads and a steadily maintained growth.

The foundations of the company lie in Bespoke Joinery.  We operate a Workshop, which forms the manufacturing foundation for all site joinery requirements and produces a range of products including windows and casings, reception and security counters and high-class architectural joinery.  As the company has expanded, we have developed the range of services we offer beyond joinery to offer a full contracting service to the industrial, commercial and public sectors.

Apprenticeship Scheme

We have a long-running association with Accrington & Rossendale College, which is widely regarded as one of the best construction colleges in the Country.  In partnership, we deliver a comprehensive Apprenticeship programme.  Young learners spend four days each week working on site, closely shadowing their Site Managers and gaining valuable on-the-job experience.  One day each week is spent at college, honing skills and technique following a nationally recognised NVQ programme, amidst some of the most modern equipment and facilities available.  Support is provided from both senior staff at Hambling and a dedicated tutor at the college.

Our Apprenticeship programme has been an enormous success.  90% of our past Apprentices have successfully completed their NVQ studies and have gone onto full time employment with the company.  This has allowed us to develop a new generation of skilled employees, whose quality and attention to detail has only enhanced the reputation of the company.

Recent Developments

The company continues to go from strength to strength.  Further growth has necessitated an expansion of our workshop, with the installation of state of the art equipment to ensure our woodwork remains of the highest order.  A programme to redevelop our office facilities at Hindle Street, Accrington, is underway, and new computer equipment has been installed to increase the effectiveness of our programme management.
