Acorn Analytical Services was formed by Andrew Jackson & Claire Slinger in November 2000. The company set ou to offer a high quality cost effective solution to asbestos.

In August 2001 the company gained UKAS Accreditation to ISO17025 as a testing laboratory. The company is currently seeking to extend its scope of accreditation to include ISO17020 / EN45004 - as a Type C inspection body.

All staff are employed on a full time basis and are given in house trainng. All members of staff have thr British Institute of Occupational Hygiene P Module examination that qualifies them to undertake the work they are assigned.

Andrew Jackson (Managing Director) now sits on one of the ATAC commites. ATAC is the consulting partner of ARCA (asbestos removal contractors association). Both ARCA and ATAC were formed to improve the quality of work undertaken within the Industry.

Participants in both the RICE (regular inter laboratory counting exchange) and AIMS (asbestos in materials scheme). Which are run by the Health and Safety Laboratory.
